HOW TO COACH

My struggle/success as an introvert Coach

I grew up being told that introverts had something wrong with them.
They’re shy, weak, socially awkward and missing a few marbles.
They were talking about me

I’m still an introvert, but my understanding and view of myself has flipped 100%.
Lets dig into the dynamics of being an introvert and coaching.
First, we will…

  • Bust some myths…

  • Talk about 10 struggles…

  • Why introverts make Powerful Life Coaches

  • 7 Reasons People Choose Introverted Life Coaches

Understanding my introvert side sure gave me the insight I needed to perform better as a coach.
I was able to add more quality coaches.
Create group coaching courses.
Clean up my content so it was more transformational.
The biggest part was I could relax and be myself.
It’s good to be an introvert.

10 Common Myths About Introverts (and the Truth)

Myth: Introverts are shy.
Truth: Shyness is fear-based; introversion is energy-based. Introverts aren’t afraid to talk — they just don’t want to talk unless it’s meaningful.

Myth: Introverts don’t like people.
Truth: They love people — they just prefer quality over quantity. They thrive in deep, authentic relationships, not surface-level chatter.

Myth: Introverts can’t be leaders.
Truth: Some of the best leaders in history were introverts. They lead with calm authority, deep thought, and strong vision.

Myth: Introverts aren’t confident.
Truth: Many are extremely confident — just not loud about it. Their strength is often quiet and steady, not bold and flashy.

Myth: Introverts hate public speaking.
Truth: They might dread small talk, not big talks. When speaking about something they’re passionate about, they can own the stage.

Myth: Introverts need to be fixed.
Truth: Introversion is not a flaw — it’s a natural wiring. In fact, it’s a superpower in reflection, listening, and emotional depth.

Myth: Introverts are antisocial.
Truth: They're selectively social.
They value intentional connection over constant interaction.

Myth: Introverts can’t network.
Truth: They can — just differently. They build deeper, long-term relationships instead of handing out 50 business cards.

Myth: Introverts don’t speak up.
Truth: When they do speak, people listen. Introverts often weigh their words carefully, which gives their voice more impact.

Myth: Introverts are always quiet.
Truth: Get them talking about something they love — and good luck getting them to stop! They’re often animated and expressive in safe, trusted environments.

10 Reasons Some Introverts Struggle as Life Coaches (and how to fix them)

1. They second-guess themselves. Introverts often overthink and doubt their impact.
Fix: Practice, feedback, and celebrating small wins help build quiet confidence.

2. They avoid visibility. Marketing, social media, or speaking up can feel overwhelming or “too much.”
Fix: Start with low-pressure visibility (e.g., writing posts, 1:1 convos) and expand as comfort grows.

3. They can be too inward-focused. Over-focusing on their own thoughts or performance might make them miss cues from the client.
Fix: Shift attention outward — focus on serving, not on being perfect.

4. They avoid confrontation. Introverted coaches might hold back tough questions or avoid challenging clients for fear of upsetting them.
Fix: Reframe confrontation as carefrontation — loving honesty is part of great coaching.

5. They burn out quietly. Introverts may not voice their needs or limits, especially with draining clients.
Fix: Build in recovery time, and communicate boundaries clearly.

6. They struggle with self-promotion. Many introverts feel weird “selling themselves” or charging what they’re worth.
Fix: Frame it as inviting people to a transformation, not bragging. Let your message sell, not your ego.

7. They can retreat under pressure. High-stakes situations or fast-paced clients may cause them to mentally freeze or withdraw.
Fix: Prepare scenarios ahead of time and have a “reset ritual” to stay grounded.

8. They may over-accommodate. Some introverts go into “pleaser mode” to keep the peace — undermining their authority and impact.
Fix: Remember: coaching is not caretaking. Clarity and leadership are acts of service.

9. They undercharge or overgive. To avoid conflict or because they don’t feel “ready enough,” they discount their value.
Fix: Track results, testimonials, and transformations — your impact proves your worth.

10. They isolate when stuck. Instead of reaching out for help, introverts may go inward when they most need support.
Fix: Build a coaching peer circle or mentor relationship — connection fuels growth.

Here’s the good stuff !!!

Why Introverts Make Powerful Life Coaches:

1. They listen deeply. Introverts tend to be excellent listeners — and life coaching isn’t about talking the most, it’s about hearing what the client isn’t saying.

2. They ask thoughtful questions. Introverts often process things internally before speaking, which means they’re more likely to ask meaningful, well-considered questions that help clients think deeper.

3. They don’t dominate the space. Unlike extroverts who might accidentally overtalk, introverts usually allow the client to have the spotlight — which builds trust and empowers the client’s voice.

4. They value one-on-one connection. Introverts thrive in intimate, focused conversations, which is the very heart of coaching.

5. They notice subtle cues. Many introverts are highly attuned to body language, tone changes, and emotional shifts, even if they don’t say much — a huge asset in transformational work.

7 Reasons People Choose Introverted Life Coaches

1. They feel safe and heard. Introverts are excellent listeners. Clients often say, “You actually hear me.” There’s no pressure, no judgment — just calm, steady presence.

2. The space feels calm, not chaotic. Introverted coaches don’t fill silence with noise or push for fast answers. Clients can breathe, reflect, and go deep — which is where transformation happens.

3. They ask thoughtful, insightful questions. Introverts think before they speak — so their questions often cut straight to the core. Clients walk away thinking, “Whoa... I’ve never thought of it that way before.”

4. They’re not trying to “fix” you. An introverted coach won’t dominate with advice or personal stories. They guide rather than control — helping clients find their own answers.

5. They model quiet confidence. Many clients are tired of loud, overhyped energy. An introverted coach offers a refreshing, grounded example of authentic, centered leadership.

6. They create deep, meaningful connections. Introverts don’t fake connection — they value genuine rapport, and it shows. Clients often feel like they’re being deeply seen for the first time.

7. They’re emotionally intuitive. Even if they don’t call themselves “empaths,” introverted coaches tend to sense subtle shifts in energy, mood, and truth. Clients feel understood — not just heard.

If you need a MIND SHIFT to find your value, review these 7 reasons each morning and night.
Change it from “they” to “I”, just like writing affirmations or declarations.
Your mind may have been messed with as a kid like mine was.
Never too late to reset your mind.

“Introverted coaches don’t speak to impress…
They speak to transform.”

True coaching is a calling, a mission.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to your Maker for guidance.
Keep pressing forward. We need you out there doing your thing.
