Are you an Empath?

It’s not a curse, it’s a gift.

I hear what they are saying…
But I sense that there is more to the story.
In fact, I’m going to guess…
Yep, I was spot on.

Where did that information come from?
How did I know what was REALLY going on with them?

EMPATHS have a unique ability to sense and tune in to the information that is hovering around a person. Sounds kind of sci-fi….but the truth is our thoughts don’t just stay inside of our heads….those thoughts travel. Just like a text message doesn’t stay inside of a phone…you type the text, press send, and it leaves the phone and travels through the air to a tower…then to the person you are texting. Thoughts travel in the same manner. Humanity isn’t skilled at “thought texting” yet….but it is possible.

WORDS tend to be the main focus when communicating with another person. We get caught up in exactly what a person said or didn’t say. Actually Body Language is a larger part of communication than words. Most people don’t know how to read body language….so, we are left with words. Empaths tune into the information, or energy, that is in and around a person. In this information is the person's experiences, opinions, thoughts, feelings, struggles, beliefs, paradigms and a whole bunch more bits and pieces.

CREEPY When you can tap into this information you can learn a lot about the person. The interesting part is the person is so shocked that you can know so much about them in such a short time they usually will deny what you are sharing with them. So, to be respectful, you don’t disclose all that you see. This is a way to lose friends and you soon will become creepy. Just because you know information about them, doesn’t mean that you tell them.

EMPATH & COACHING What a great combination. Many times a person who wants to become a coach actually is an empath. They don’t know it…becuase they never stopped and tried to figure out why they are so good with people and why they can solve other peoples problems so fast. They seem like a natural coach….actually…..they are a natural empath.

CURSE Not knowing how to use this gift can be maddening. How? Well, you wonder why you have weird thoughts going through your head all the time….and why your emotions are all over the place. It sometimes can feel like you are not yourself. Being around a group of people can overload your system because you can feel the information of all the people in the room. When I first started teaching seminars it was like an ocean of information coming at me. I learned how to manage it and when I used my empath skills in front of the audience, they wondered if I could read people's minds. This is a GIFT, not a curse. Learn how to use this gift. It will improve as you use it on purpose. It has to be controlled and managed or it can wander and flood your mind and body with too much information.

GIFT Consider the idea that you can tap into the information in and around a person. Respect that person and use this gift to quickly understand them. This will help you in your coaching appointments, being a parent, with your friends and in everyday situations. Practice “listening” and “feeling” the information coming to you. I practice imagining that it is a beam of light between me and the other person…and the information travels through this to me. I use visualization to fine tune my skill so I can choose who to connect with and who to not connect with. Instead of letting my system randomly connect, I am using it on purpose. I use this gift to help others solve problems, get in alignment, mend relationships, get their goals and understand themselves. It’s cool.

You might be an empath.
